He is presently a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), representing the Ujiyarpur District of Bihar, India (2015 Bihar Legislative State Assembly Elections). He was initially Honorable Minister to the Department of Co-operatives, Bihar, India 2015 Bihar Legislative State Assembly elections ,until his term of service to the department abruptly ended in 2017 following the unpredicted resignation of then Honorable Chief Minister, Bihar, Shri Nitish Kumar, dissolution of the Cabinate & then following alliance with BJP led NDA, previously in opposition. He is also a former member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represents the Ujiyarpur constituency of Bihar and is also the National Youth President of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) political party. External links
