释义 |
Aloysius is Lord Sebastian Flyte's teddy bear in Evelyn Waugh's novel Brideshead Revisited (1945). The model for Aloysius was Archibald Ormsby-Gore, the beloved teddy bear of John Betjeman, Waugh's friend at Oxford. The bear is likely named after the Catholic saint Aloysius Gonzaga.[1] Aloysius, and in particular his representation in the 1981 television adaptation of the novel, is credited with having triggered the late-20th century teddy bear renaissance.[2] He was depicted by a teddy bear named Delicatessen, owned by the actor Peter Bull.[3] References1. ^{{Cite web|title = CatholicHerald.co.uk » The saint who must have inspired the Brideshead teddy bear|url = http://www.catholicherald.co.uk/news/2013/06/20/the-saint-who-must-have-inspired-the-brideshead-teddy-bear/|website = www.catholicherald.co.uk|access-date = 2016-02-07}} 2. ^{{cite web|date=May 2004| url = http://www.theteddybearmuseum.com/famous3.htm| title = The Teddy Bear Museum, Stratford-upon-Avon: Famous Bears| work = | pages = | publisher = | accessdate = 2006-06-23| archiveurl= https://web.archive.org/web/20060510135057/http://www.theteddybearmuseum.com/famous3.htm| archivedate= 10 May 2006 | deadurl= no}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-459461/Found-Aloysius-Brideshead-bear.html|title=Found: Aloysius the Brideshead bear|work=The Daily Mail|date=2 June 2007|first=Ewan |last=Fletcher|accessdate=2009-01-23| archiveurl= https://archive.is/20081210023205/http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-459461/Found-Aloysius-Brideshead-bear.html| archivedate= 10 December 2008 | deadurl= no}} Further reading
