Two new genus (Rothpletzella and Wetheredella) has been proposed to include these forms.[3] Fossil recordThis genus is known in the fossil record from the Ordovician to the Triassic (from about 460.9 to 221.5 million years ago). Fossils of species within this genus have been found in Europe, Russia, United States, Canada, China and Australia.[4] References1. ^{{cite web|url=https://fossiilid.info/8299|title=Sphaerocodium|author=|date=|website=fossiilid.info|accessdate=7 January 2019}} {{Taxonbar|from=Q22286463}}2. ^E.
