It flows from the mountains' southern side into Glencar Lough. With a height of {{convert|150|m}}, the waterfall is higher than Powerscourt Waterfall.[2] However its flow is weather dependent, flowing for about 200 days per year and ceasing to flow following periods of dry weather. The waterfall's name comes from the phenomenon where southerly winds sometimes blow the water backwards up and over the cliff edge. A public hiking trail has been established allowing access close to the base of the falls.[4] References1. ^1 {{cite web | url = http://www.worldwaterfalldatabase.com/waterfall/Sruth-In-Aghaidh-An-Aird-678 | title = Sruth in Aghaidh an Aird | publisher = World Waterfall Database | accessdate = 24 November 2017}} [1][2]2. ^1 {{cite news | last = Gallagher | first = Emma | date = 28 May 2016 | title = Couple's dream shared | url = https://www.independent.ie/regionals/sligochampion/news/couples-dream-shared-34739329.html | newspaper = The Sligo Champion | via = Irish Independent | accessdate = 24 November 2017}} }}{{Sligo-geo-stub}}{{Leitrim-geo-stub}} 3 : Landforms of County Sligo|Landforms of County Leitrim|Waterfalls of the Republic of Ireland |
