}}St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru is a Catholic institution which provides higher education for women in South India. It is affiliated with Mangaluru University.[1] The College offers Graduation and Post Graduation courses. The college is Re-accredited by NAAC with "A" Grade in 2012.[2]

The College is located in Mangaluru, near St. Sebastian Church, Bendore, Karnataka, India. .

History

The Apostolic Carmel Congregation was founded by Venerable Mother Veronica in 1868 and established at Mangaluru, India, in 1870. The College was founded by Mother Mary Aloysia and formally inaugurated on 2 July 1921.

First NAAC accreditation in 1999 the college secured Five Star Grade. Re-accreditation by the NAAC in 2005 and 2012 college earned A Grade. The college recognized a College with Potential Excellence by the U.G.C. and also the recipient of the Jimmy and Roselyn Carter Foundation Partnership Award.[3]

Management

The Institute is managed by the Sisters of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation founded by Mother Mary Aloysia, the Second Superior General of the Apostolic Carmel on 2 July 1921.

Achievements

  • The college was awarded the status of 'College with Potential for Excellence' by the UGC in 2006. The fourth cycle of accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council.[4]
  • The college has been assessed and accredited with an 'A+' Grade and CGPA 3.65 out of 4 in cycle 4.[5][6]
