L. Hancock on behalf of Mr. David Brown. It was blessed by the then Bishop of Wakefield Eric Treacy.[3] The church was officially opened on October 28, 1960 by Mr. Peter Hinchliff and dedicated by the Bishop of Pontefract George Clarkson.
