It is a Grade II* listed building[1] and stands on the north side of Braybrooke Road. There is no reference to a church or priest in the entry for the parish in the Domesday Book, which was compiled in 1086.[1] This may indicate the absence of a church building at that stage or, alternatively, only the absence of a resident priest. The main structure of the present building was erected in the 12th and 14th centuries. Restoration was carried out in the 19th century. The church consists of a nave, north and south aisles, chancel and west tower. A detailed description appears on the Historic England website.[2] The parish registers survive from 1650 and, apart from those currently in use, are kept at Northamptonshire Record Office.[3] Details of its location and opening times can be found on the Record Office website.[4] Arthingworth is part of a united Benefice along with East Farndon, Harrington and Oxendon. Each parish retains its own church building.[5] Notes{{Commons category|St Andrew's Church, Arthingworth}}1. ^{{Cite web|title= Open Domesday – Arthingworth|url= http://opendomesday.org/place/SP7581/arthingworth/|accessdate=2015-10-05}} {{DEFAULTSORT:St Andrew's Church, Arthingworth}}{{England-church-stub}}{{Northamptonshire-struct-stub}}2. ^1 {{NHLE|desc=Church of St Andrew, Arthingworth|num= 1067030|accessdate=2015-10-05}} 3. ^{{Cite web|title=Parish Registers|publisher=Northamptonshire County Council|url=http://www.northamptonshire.gov.uk/en/councilservices/Community/archives/Documents/PDF%20Documents/Parish%20register%20list%20updated%20to%2028%20November%202013.pdf|accessdate=2015-10-05|deadurl=yes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20151002043256/http://www.northamptonshire.gov.uk/en/councilservices/Community/archives/Documents/PDF%20Documents/Parish%20register%20list%20updated%20to%2028%20November%202013.pdf|archivedate=2015-10-02|df=}} 4. ^{{cite web|title=Northamptonshire Record Office|url=http://www.northamptonshire.gov.uk/en/councilservices/community/archives/pages/northamptonshire-record-office-archives.aspx|accessdate=2015-10-05|deadurl=yes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20151007064551/http://www.northamptonshire.gov.uk/en/councilservices/Community/archives/Pages/northamptonshire-record-office-archives.aspx|archivedate=2015-10-07|df=}} 5. ^{{Cite web|title=The Diocese of Peterborough – St Andrew, Arthingworth|url= http://www.peterborough-diocese.org.uk/find-a-church/find-a-church/church-details/97406|accessdate=2015-10-05}} 3 : Grade II* listed churches in Northamptonshire|12th-century churches in the United Kingdom|14th-century church buildings in England |
