It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.[1] It is a two-story brick structure, which is "one of the best built downtown commercial structures". It has served as "a steady anchor for the county seat's business district." It is named for J.A. Stine, its owner and a civic leader of Alva. Stine came from Pennsylvania to Alva in 1894, and served as its mayor when it became a city in 1901.[2] References1. ^1 {{NRISref|version=2010a}} {{NRHP in Woods County, Oklahoma}}{{Oklahoma-NRHP-stub}}2. ^{{cite web|url={{NRHP url|id=82003717}}|title=National Register of Historic Places Inventory/Nomination: Stine Building |publisher=National Park Service|author=Kent Ruth |date=March 1981 |accessdate=November 1, 2017}} With {{NRHP url|id=82003717|photos=y|title=two photos from 1981}}. 3 : National Register of Historic Places in Woods County, Oklahoma|Buildings and structures completed in 1906|Woods County, Oklahoma |
