}}Stoliczkia is a genus of snakes in the family Xenodermidae.[ The genus contains only two species, one from Northeast India and the other from Borneo.[3][4][5]]EtymologyThe genus is named after Ferdinand Stoliczka,[1] Moravian-born zoologist who later worked for the Geological Survey of India.[7] Many subsequent publications have used the spelling Stoliczkaia. However, Stoliczkia is considered valid because it was repeated twice in Jerdon's original publication, rendering a spelling error unlikely. Moreover, the name Stoliczkaia is now preoccupied by Stoliczkaia Neumayr 1875, an ammonite genus.[5] SpeciesThere are two species:[[3]] - Stoliczkia borneensis (Boulenger, 1899) — Borneo red snake, Stolickza's stream snake
