It is the largest festival in North Greece, reaching more than 40.000 visitors, in a 4-day long program involving live music gigs and street activities. All forms and modes of urban music and culture have a place in the line-up of Street Mode festival, a program that involves live music gigs, dj sets, shows and contests of graffiti, street art, breaking, street dance, parkour, freerunning, skateboarding, longboarding & more. HistoryStreet Mode Festival was first organized in September 2009 in the Central Square of Thermi, a suburb of Thessaloniki, Greece. The event was conceptualized, organized and produced by Giannis Efstathiou (Nox1), and during its first year offered a full transformation of Thermi’s central square through graffiti-artists interventions. At the same time, it offered a series of b-boy battles, street dance shows to the eyes of the local public, while the first year of the festival also included live music gigs, with a small line-up head-lined by the Athenian band Vodka Juniors. The festival continued growing for the next four years. The Central square of Thermi remained the venue of the festival for 5 years, from 2009 to 2013, while the organizers of the festival left no-stone unturned in terms of Greek, artists invited to show their work and their skills to the constantly growing public. In 2014, the festival moved its venue to Thessaloniki’s port area. In 2017 and 2018 the festival grew even larger, consequently moving to the venue of FIX Factory Open-Air Multipex in Thessaloniki.
