词条 | St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church (Ann Arbor, Michigan) |
释义 |
The building is built of local fine grain rough cut granite, on a cruciform plan. It seats a thousand people.[2] In 1927 Fr. Command, then the pastor of the church, traveled to the Vatican. In the course of that trip he visited Padua and ordered a statue of St. Thomas that was delivered and placed in a niche high in the gable four years later.[3] The church is listed as a Michigan State Historic Site.[1] References1. ^1 {{cite book|url=http://quod.lib.umich.edu/m/moaatxt/anw1745.0001.001/75?view=image|last1= Reade |first1= Marjorie |first2= Susan |last2= Wineberg |title= Historic Buildings: Ann Arbor, Michigan |publisher= Ann Arbor Historical Foundation and Ann Arbor Historic District Commission |year= 1992 |pages= 48–49|accessdate=November 25, 2016}} {{coord|42|17|06.2|N|83|44|29.0|W|region:US-MI_type:landmark|display=title}}{{DEFAULTSORT:St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church (Ann Arbor, Michigan)}}2. ^{{cite book |last= Eckert |first= Kathryn Bishop |title= Buildings of Michigan |publisher= Oxford University Press |location= New York |year= 1993 |page= 142}} 3. ^{{cite thesis |last= Kvaran |first= Einar Einarsson |title= An Annotated Inventory of Outdoor Sculpture in Washtenaw County |type= Independent Study/Masters Thesis |publisher= Eastern Michigan University |location= Ypsilanti |year= 1989 |page= AA16}} 5 : Churches in Washtenaw County, Michigan|Outdoor sculptures in Michigan|History of Catholicism in the United States|Roman Catholic churches completed in 1899|Churches in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lansing |
