The postcode for Sungai Liang is KC1135.[3] NameThe official Malay name for Sungai Liang is {{Lang|ms|Kampung Sungai Liang}} ("{{Lang|ms|kampung}}" is sometimes spelt as "{{Lang|ms|kampong}}', which literally means 'Sungai Liang Village'. GeographySungai Liang is officially a village, the third- and lowest-level administrative division of Brunei. It is one of the subdivisions of Liang, a mukim or subdistrict in Belait District.[4] IndustrySungai Liang Industrial Park, commonly known as SPARK, is a {{Convert|271|ha|acre|abbr=off|adj=on}} site which has been dedicated by the government to be developed as an industrial area for petrochemical industry, taking advantage of its location as near to the oil and gas industry in the district. It is currently home to a methanol plant which is owned by the Brunei Methanol Company which is a joint-venture between Petroleum Brunei, a state-owned oil and gas company, and two Japanese companies namely Mitsubishi Gas Chemical and Itochu.[5] It started its first shipment in 2010 and has since produced 850,000-tonne of methanol annually.[6][5] There will also be a demo hydrogenation plant in the area; it is currently in construction and expected to be completed by 2019.[7] It is developed by {{Abbr|AHEAD|Advanced Hydrogen Energy Chain Association for Technology Development}}, a Japanese consortium, and is aimed to produce 210 tonnes of liquefied hydrogen, in which the gas will be obtained from the nearby Brunei LNG plant.[8] The product will be exported for the Japanese domestic market; the first batch is expected to be utilised as fuel for 3,000 cars used during the Tokyo Summer Olympic Games in 2020.[7][9] A fertilizer plant is also planned to be built in the site; the plant is developed by the German conglomerate ThyssenKrupp and expected to operate by 2021.[10][11][12][13] HealthcareSungai Liang Health Centre is a government community health centre which provides primary healthcare to the residents of Sungai Liang as well as those residing in the mukim of Liang.
