HistorySince the early twentieth century the presence of immigrants from the Middle East is recorded in and around Torreón dedicated primarily to trade. However, it was not until 1983 that approximately 35 people, descendants of the first immigrants, began meeting in the house of Hassan Zain Chamut, who later became the leader of the community.[3][4] Elias Serhan Selim, one of the participants in those meetings, had the idea of build a mosque.
