The painting is signed with Gentileschi's name and the date of 1622. It currently is in the collection of the Marquess of Exeter, Burghley House, Stamford, Lincolnshire, England; it has been listed as being in the family collection since at least the 1700s.^[1]

It is one of many paintings by Gentileschi depicts the story of Susanna from the Book of Daniel.
