The portfolio has a value of around CHF10 billion and consists primarily of commercial and retail real estate.[2] The real estate investments - together with the real estate services of the subsidiary Wincasa AG - form the real estate division. The retail division consists of the Jelmoli department store - The House of Brands. In the elderly life and living division, the living and care offers of the Tertianum Group are summarized.[3]

History

The company was founded in 1999 by the pension funds of Credit Suisse and Siemens Switzerland and the then Winterthur Life (now Axa). Swiss Prime Site was listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange in April 2000. At the time, the real estate portfolio had a value of around CHF500 million.[4]

In 2001, Swiss Prime Site bought a portfolio of office buildings from Swisscom.[5] In 2003, it acquired the Frey Group and in 2004 Maag Holding AG. In 2009, the takeover of the stock listed Jelmoli Holding AG took place. In October 2012, Swiss Prime Site acquired Wincasa AG,[6] a real estate service company in Switzerland, as well as the Tertianum Group.[7]

Completed construction projects: Basler Messeturm in 2003,[8] Opus Zug in 2005, Sihlcity in Zürich in 2007 (joint ownership of 24.2%), the PostFinance Arena in Bern in 2009 and the Prime Tower with the Clouds restaurant and its neighboring building in 2011. The Prime Tower on the Maag site in Zürich West, is with its total of 126 meters, one of the tallest office buildings in Switzerland.

Current projects: Renovation of the office spaces in Motel One in Zurich and Basel, construction of the new Vitadomo Senior Citizens' Center in Bellinzona, development of the Weltpostpark Murifeld in Bern.

Development projects: Siemens site, Zurich; Schönburg, Bern; Chemin de Riantbosson, Geneva, Route de Pré Bois, Geneva, Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva.

Real estate services

The business segment consists of the core business of real estate investments and Wincasa AG, a Swiss provider of real estate services. The investment focus in real estate is on investment in facilities, mainly with commercially used areas, as well as focus placed on project development.[9]

Retail

The business exists within the Premium Department Store of Jelmoli in Zurich. On around half of the sales area of 23,800 m², shop-in-shop sales are generated by third parties. The other areas are managed by Jelmoli.

Elderly life and living

The business segment consists of the Tertianum Group, which is a Swiss provider in this market segment.

Management

The management consists of René Zahnd (CEO since 2016), Markus Meier (CFO since 2015), Peter Lehmann (CIO since 2002) and Franco Savastano (CEO of Jelmoli - The House of Brands since 2012), Oliver Hofmann (CEO of Wincasa AG , since 2013 member of the Executive Committee) and Luca Stäger (CEO of Tertianum AG, since 2014 member of the Executive Committee).[10]
