The line will be {{cvt|10.1|km}} long with 14 stations each {{cvt|60|m}} of length, and is expected to go into service in 2019. 30 trains will carry up to 114,000 passengers a day. Its route follows mostly the eastern coastline of Golden Horn, and is built on the bank next to the existing street. At some places, it crosses the water on piles. The total travel time will be 35 minutes. The electrification is from power lines embedded into ground between the tracks to avoid visual pollution as different from other tram lines in the city, which have traditional overhead wires suspended from roadside posts.
