Tatana Island is located in the National Capital District of Papua New Guinea.[1] It is sited in Port Moresby Harbour to the west of the city centre. The island is about {{convert|0.48|km2|abbr=on}} in area, and consists of a single hilly rise some {{convert|800|m|yd}} by {{convert|500|m|yd}} in size. All the settlement on the island is concentrated in a strip of buildings along the northern shore, simply known as Tatana.
