He is the second child to the royal couple Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah.[1] BackgroundEarly life and educationTengku Hassanal began his education in Caldicott School and Sherbone School, United Kingdom from 2002 to 2007, and completed his secondary and upper secondary at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan St Thomas, Kuantan from 2008 to 2012. He then pursued further education at University of Nottingham then Geneva School of Diplomacy and International Relations and completed a bachelor's degree in International Relations.[2][3] He was appointed as Tengku Panglima Besar of Pahang on 18 June 2018, after graduating from Geneva School of Diplomacy and International Relations, Switzerland.[4] He is currently undergoing military training at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, United Kingdom.[5] Tengku Mahkota of PahangTengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah was proclaimed as the Tengku Mahkota of Pahang and Raja Pahang on 29 January 2019. He will serves as Regent throughout his father's 5-year reign as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. The ceremony was held at Balairung Seri, Istana Abu Bakar, Kuantan before the Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and the new Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, 2 days before the royal couple departs to Kuala Lumpur to reign as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Raja Permaisuri Agong.
