The Dumb Die Fast, The Smart Die Slow ({{lang-th|กะโหลกบางตายช้า กะโหลกหนาตายก่อน}}) is a 1991 Thai film noir directed by Manop Udomdej.

Summary

The story has taken place since 1983, Salak and Tuang both of them together leverage the company's safe. But was caught and jailed. Later Salak escape, but he was hunted by the police, so Salak fleeing in the Betong district, and working in a far away gas station by a Boonpreng is owned. Boonpreng is a good man with good morals. But Boonpreng has a beautiful wife at the time of his daughter, her name is Chanang. Salak liar that his name is Charan, he works very well to be trusted by Boonpreng. Everyday Boonpreng will keep money in the safe by Chanang she can't open and don't know what's inside, but she believe that there must be a lot of money in there. When she realized that, in fact, Charal was a prisoner who had escaped from the jail, and to share a part of the money. But Salak refuses all the time.

Later, she had killed Boonpreng, by Salak connive. Both of them quietly silenced the burial of Boonpreng at the station. Then try to open the safe. One day, Tuang got out of jail and found Salak and Chanang at the station. Tuang work at the station, without knowing all that happened. But in the end, the secret could not be closed, before the three of them will betray and kill each other in the end.

This film is Thailand's representative to contest the 36th Asia-Pacific Film Festival 1991 in Taipei, Republic of China was awarded special film (Special Award for Stylistic Integrity^[3]).
