It was also screened in the Discovery section at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival.[2] The film won four Goya Awards, including Best Film, Best New Director, Best Supporting Actor – Manolo Solo –, and Best Original Screenplay.[3] The title of the film comes from John Dryden's epic poem Absalom and Achitophel (1681; line 1005).[4] PlotMadrid, August 2007.
