Popular as local Southern California band in early 1980's, The Tearaways now tour internationally, covering British rock bands like Badfinger and performing their own California Sound meets the British Invasion.[5][6] The group was co-founded by primary songwriter, guitarist and vocalist John Finseth in the early 1980s. The group performs at private events and at public venues worldwide and has been praised by Pierce Morgan and Tom Hanks.[7][8][9][10][11] British invasion meets California surf soundThe Tearaway's music reflects the sounds of 60's soft pop and rock musicians across 'The Pond' (akaAtlantic Ocean). Collectively, the Tearaways have been influenced by Tom Petty and Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Eagles, Jefferson Airplane, The Who, The Kinks, The Hollies, and Squeeze.[12] Cavern ClubFor their 12th appearance at International Beatleweek Festival, hosted by The Cavern Club, The Tearaways were joined by co-founder of Blondie Dr. Clem Burke. Burke is also known for partnering with Debbie Harry as well as playing with Annie Lennox of the Eurythmics, The Plimsouls, and The Ramones. Famed owner The Cavern Club Alan Sytner, is credited with helping launch The Beatles at The Cavern Club[13] who performed over 290 times at the club. Local venuesMalibu Guitar FestivalThe Tearaways have covered The Rolling Stones at the Malibu Guitar Festival[14][15] and played at Ghengis Cohen.[16] References1. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.donpeakemusic.com|title=Don Peake music|website=www.donpeakemusic.com}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Tearaways}}2. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/1376741-Greg-Brallier|title=Greg Brallier|website=Discogs}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/1376806-Perry-Benenati|title=Perry Benenati|website=Discogs}} 4. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/1376775-Jesse-Benenati|title=Jesse Benenati|website=Discogs}} 5. ^{{cite web|url=http://articles.latimes.com/1990-12-27/news/vl-9923_1_tearaways-music|title=MUSIC THE TEARAWAYS : Groovy Again : The Tearaways may sound like the '60s, but the band says that lyrically and thematically, its music is very modern.|first=BILL|last=LOCEY|date=27 December 1990|publisher=|via=LA Times}} 6. ^http://santabarbarasentinel.com/blog/2014/where-were-you-in-82-an-oral-history-of-santa-barbara-clublands-age-of-enlightenment/ 7. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.tearaways.com/bio/|title=BIO - The Tearaways|website=www.tearaways.com}} 8. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.independent.com/news/2009/jun/21/sbs-tearaways-morph-badfinger/|title=S.B.'s Tearaways Morph into Badfinger|website=www.independent.com}} 9. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.sohosb.com/event/387061-emile-millar-ep-release-party-santa-barbara/|title=Emile Millar EP Release Party w/The Tearaways, Sean McCue, Robin & Darrin, Zach Madden - Tickets - SOhO Restaurant and Music Club - Santa Barbara, CA - November 5th, 2013|website=SOhO}} 10. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.sohosb.com/event/674483-tearaways-pranks-norman-santa-barbara/|title=The Tearaways, The Pranks, Norman Allen - benefit for Cory Orosco - Tickets - SOhO Restaurant and Music Club - Santa Barbara, CA - September 26th, 2014|website=SOhO}} 11. ^{{cite web|url=https://hearasingle.blogspot.com/search|title=The Tearaways - DW Hofner, Martin Gibson, Ludwig Rickenbacker, Earle Hammond & Vox Fender, ESQ|first=Anything Should|last=Happen|date=18 June 2017|publisher=}} 12. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/1376736-The-Tearaways|title=The Tearaways|website=Discogs}} 13. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/alan-sytner-9grqrl3tdtt|title=Alan Sytner|first=February 10, 1935 - January 11,|last=2006|publisher=}} 14. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.malibutimes.com/news/article_a94137ec-209c-11e7-b037-03547b7e4a57.html|title=Mick Fleetwood To Headline Guitar Festival|first=Jimy Tallal / Special to The Malibu|last=Times|publisher=}} 15. ^malibuguitarfestival.com 16. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.laweekly.com/event/the-tearaways-7833191|title=The Tearaways|website=L.A.
