It was described by Hudson in 1928. It is found in New Zealand,[1] where it has been recorded from the central part of the North Island south to Stewart Island. Adults are grey with darker markings. The larvae feed on the foliage of Olearia species, including Olearia solandri from within a portable case. They mine and erode the leaves.[2][3] References1. ^funet.fi {{Taxonbar|from=Q14488723}}{{Thiotrichinae-stub}}2. ^Lepidoptera of small-leaved divaricating Olearia in New Zealand and their conservation priority 3. ^{{Cite web|url=https://plant-synz.landcareresearch.co.nz/ReportForm.aspx?RecordId=1254&Type=H&ReportType=Adv&SortBy=Alpha&Biostatus=a,c,e,n|title=PlantSynz - Invertebrate herbivore biodiversity assessment tool: Database|website=plant-synz.landcareresearch.co.nz|access-date=2018-07-10}} 5 : Moths described in 1928|Thiotricha|Moths of New Zealand|Endemic fauna of New Zealand|Taxa named by George Hudson |
