He is a member of the left-wing association of economists called Les Économistes atterrés. Early life and educationThomas Porcher father was a management teacher from Vietnamese origin, and his mother was a sewer of Italian origin.[1] After his baccalauréat, he achieved a licence, then a doctorate on economy at the Pantheon-Sorbonne University.[2] Political careerIn 2018 he funded with Raphaël Glucksmann the French centre-left political party Place Publique.[3] On 16 March 2019, Place Publique and the Socialist Party announced that they will present a joint list at the European Parliament election, with Raphaël Glucksmann as the head of the list.[4] Thomas Porcher left the party the same day, denouncing a "list of apparatchiks".[5] Publications
