Three Island Crossing is a state park in the U.S. state of Idaho. It has facilities to camp and fish, and a museum, which shows items from when the settlers crossed the Snake River. On September 11, 1842, a group led by William T. Newby crossed the Snake River for the first time. They rode through part of the river that was 100 yards wide over to an island. They then went off on to a branch that was 75 yards wide to get onto another island. They had up to 15 wagons on them at a time and the water got up to 10 inches in the deep parts.[1]
