As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,137 and an area of {{convert|73.5|km2|mi2}}.[1] The municipality of Ampezzo contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Cima Corso, Oltris, and Voltois. Ampezzo borders the following municipalities: Forni di Sotto, Ovaro, Sauris, Socchieve.
