The group was formed in 2014, when Houthis seized the Al Hudaydah and the rest of north Yemen. The group was active at the 2015 start of the war participating in the Battle of Taiz in the side of the pro Hadi coalition.[4][5][6][7][8] In December of 2017, the group took part in the Al Hudaydah governorate offensive, alongside UAE, Saudi, Hadi loyals and Southern Movement fighters.[9][10][11][12] The group is closely aligned with Tareq Saleh's National Resistance, and the Giants' Brigades.[3] See also
