释义 |
Timindana was founded during the Roman Empire,[2] but the seat of the diocese is now lost to history, though it is known to be located in the Roman province of Mauretania Caesariensis in today's northern Algeria.[3][4][5] The only known bishop of antiquity in this diocese is Securo, who took part in the synod assembled in Carthage in 484 by the Vandal King Huneric, after which Securo was exiled. Although the bishopric did not survive the Muslim conquest of the Maghreb, Timidana survives today as a titular bishopric and the current bishop is auxiliary bishop of Boston, Arthur Leo Kennedy[6] who replaced Walter Joseph Schoenherr[7] in April 2007.[8] References1. ^Timidana at GCatholic.org. {{coord missing|Algeria}}{{Algiers-geo-stub}}2. ^Apostolic Succession - Titular Sonship of Timidana. 3. ^Annuario Pontificio 2013 (Libreria Editrice Vaticana, 2013, {{ISBN|978-88-209-9070-1}}), "Sedi titolari", pp. 819-1013 4. ^Pius Bonifacius Gams, Series episcoporum Ecclesiae Catholicae, (Leipzig, 1931), p. 469. 5. ^Stefano Antonio Morcelli, Africa christiana, Volume I, (Brescia, 1816), p. 325. 6. ^Le Petit Episcopologe, Issue 203, Number 16,788. 7. ^Le Petit Episcopologe, Issue 110, Deceased Cardinals. 8. ^Timidana. 6 : Archaeological sites in Algeria|Roman towns and cities in Mauretania Caesariensis|Ancient Berber cities|1st-millennium BC establishments|Catholic titular sees in Africa|Former Roman Catholic dioceses in Africa |
