Timothy Staniforth (1628-1684) was a Nonconformist preacher from Breadsall, Derbyshire, England. He is notable for his exploits in Allestree, which resulted in him being ejected from the parish in 1662. Early LifeTimothy was the son of Richard Staniforth, another nonconformist, and Elizabeth Dickinson. He was educated at Derby School before being administered at Christ's College, Cambridge at the age of 19 on April 28, 1658. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1651.[1] CareerBy the early 1660s Timothy was the Curate of Allestree, however due to his staunch Nonconformist views, he was ejected from the parish alongside his brother Jonathan Staniforth in 1662. He was a teacher in 1669 at Colonel Saunders Conventicle and later at Joseph Newham's Conventicle at Alvaston. On July 7 1669, he was arrested with Daniel Shelmerdine at John Stone's Conventicle in Stenson.
