History

On April 12, 2012, Toshiba TEC acquired IBM’s Retail Store Solutions (RSS) business, which offered retail point-of-sale solutions worldwide. The acquisition was completed in August 2012 and formed Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions.^[2]^[3] Toshiba Global Commerce Solution continued to operate IBM Retail Store Solutions’ business worldwide as Toshiba TEC’s core retail point-of-sale solution affiliates.

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions offers comprehensive POS solutions to a wide range of retail industries including grocery, convenience stores, department stores, mass merchandising, hospitality, and so on. Their products portfolio consists of POS Systems, Self Checkout Systems, Software, Printers, Kiosks & Displays, ITAB Flow Concept and Peripherals. On the services side, Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions offers various services including Professional Services, Deployment Services, and Maintenance Services.^[4]
