Kimani was the Head of Media and PR at Afro Music Pop Television, she is best known as the host of popular Nigerian Tweet-chat, KimaniOffAir[1] and the founder of Estol Africa.[2] CareerKimani began her radio career in 2005, while an undergraduate at the University of Lagos,[3] as one of the presenters at the newly established Unilag FM. Kimani also worked at Nigerian cable music channel Nigezie[4] and pop radio station Cool Fm in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, after which she continued her radio career with Unilag Fm. Kimani’s radio show Saturday Request Show has played host to a number of notable Nigerian celebrities, including Dbanj,[4] Tiwa Savage, Davido, 9ice and DJ Cupy. She has also done freelance contracts with Zoodrums, Reel Radio[5] and Rhythm Fm Lagos. In 2011, Kimani established Estol Props Media, a media service and Brand Promotion company[6] to help brands, publishers, agencies and individuals to navigate and succeed in the rapidly evolving media industry while also giving them optimum exposure in the digital space and return-on-investment. Some of the clients that she has worked with as the CEO of Estol Props Media include MTN Nigeria, Airtel Nigeria, Kenya Airways, Premier BET, Bank of Industry - Nigeria, Smirnoff Ice, Intel Nigeria, Slot Mobile, MNET, Tecno, Close Up and others.[7] In 2015, Kimani partnered with Kenya Airways as a travel blogger to chronicle a six-day tour of the tourist sites in Kenya.[8] In the same year, Kimani became the Head of Media and PR at Afro Music Pop Television, a cable music channel on the DSTV platform. As a spinoff from her radio show, Kimani started a Tweetchat, tagged KimaniOffAir to engage her radio fans off the radio, in an interactive online arena, where her fans would connect with some of her guests, which have included, rapper Olamide, Singers Tiwa Savage, Seyi Shay, Yemi Alade, Don Jazzy, entertainment CEO Audu Maikori, soccer player Jude Ighalo, Ugandan musician Eddy Kenzo, Mr. Eazi, Uhuru from South Africa, Big Brother Naija winner Efe Ejeba and many more who have made their mark in their respective field with the motive of bettering and inspiring African youths.[9] Awards and recognitionIn 2017, TheInfoNG listed Adekeye as one of the Top 17 Young Social Media Influencers in Nigeria.[10] In November 2017, Adekeye was nominated for the Maya Awards in the category of Brand Influencer of the Year - Digital (2017),[11] which she won at the event held in February 2018.[12]
