A blue plaque on its exterior records that Philip Pape, a sculptor, singer, and choirmaster, lived and worked in the house from 1960 to 1982.[2] A large ditched enclosure, encompassing the manor, was discovered during the excavation of the nearby St Peter's Church. It pre-dated the church and is tentatively dated to the 10th century, suggesting that there may have been an earlier structure on this site than the 15th century phases of the building so far identified.[3] References1. ^1 {{NHLE |num= 1083105|desc= Tyrwhitt Hall|accessdate= 1 January 2019|mode=cs2|ps=none}} {{architecture-stub}}{{Lincolnshire-struct-stub}}2. ^1 2 {{cite web |url=http://www.bartoncivicsociety.co.uk/plaques.html |title=Barton Civic Society Plaques: Tyrwhitt Hall - Beck Hill |publisher=Barton Civic Society |accessdate=1 January 2019}} 3. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.heritagegateway.org.uk/Gateway/Results_Single.aspx?uid=MLS17906&resourceID=1034 |title=Monument Record no. 17906 |publisher=Heritage Gateway |accessdate=1 January 2019}} 3 : 15th-century establishments in England|Buildings and structures in Lincolnshire|Grade II* listed buildings in North Lincolnshire |
