Ultimate Medical Academy (UMA) is a nonprofit healthcare school based Tampa, Florida with a campus in Clearwater, Florida where the school was founded in 1994. Institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), UMA has more than 50,000 alumni. The school offers online courses to more than 14,000 students as well as campus-based training to hundreds of students. Diploma and Associate of Science and Associate of Science in Health Sciences degree programs prepare students for careers in healthcare, which range from nursing assistant up to various allied healthcare positions. UMA leadership includes Chair of the Board of Directors Darlyne Bailey [1] and President Derek Apanovitch.[2] Former UMA Executive Chair of the Board of Directors and former Governor of Massachusetts Jane Swift[3] left UMA in early 2019 after serving on the board for two years.
