The UP Pulse is a German single-place paraglider that was designed and produced by UP Europe of Kochel am See. Introduced in 2000, production ended in 2003.^[1]

Design and development

The Pulse was designed as a beginner's glider for flight training.^[1]^[2]

Unlike other designs by the company, the Pulse only had one generation of models. The models are each named for their relative size.^[1]^[2]^[3]

The Pulse's sail was made from Porsher Marine New Skytex and its lines were fabricated from Cousin Trestec Super Aramid.^[2]

Variants

Pulse S

Small-sized model for lighter pilots. Its {{convert|11.0|m|ft|1|abbr=on}} span wing has a wing area of {{convert|26.9|m2|sqft|abbr=on}}, 36 cells and the aspect ratio is 4.5:1. Pulse M

Mid-sized model for medium-weight pilots. Its {{convert|11.5|m|ft|1|abbr=on}} span wing has a wing area of {{convert|29.1|m2|sqft|abbr=on}}, 36 cells and the aspect ratio is 4.5:1. The take-off weight range is {{convert|80|to|105|kg|lb|0|abbr=on}}. The glider model is DHV 1 certified.^[1]^[2]

Pulse L

Large-sized model for heavier pilots. Its {{convert|12.2|m|ft|1|abbr=on}} span wing has a wing area of {{convert|32.1|m2|sqft|abbr=on}}, 36 cells and the aspect ratio is 4.5:1. The take-off weight range is {{convert|95|to|120|kg|lb|0|abbr=on}}. The glider model is DHV 1 certified.^[1]^[2]
