Professional careerEarly yearsHe started in 2013 in the lower categories of Real Madrid, being the best player of every category. With his short age, he has a gold medal in the 2016 European Championship Under-16 and a silver one in 2018. He was the MVP of both championships.[1] In the season 2017-2018 he alternate between the Real Madrid Junior and the Real Madrid that plays in the Liga EBA, being finally called to play fulltime in the Real Madrid team in the EBA league for the season 2018-2019. He was the MVP for several days.[2] Real MadridOn October 28, 2018, he was called by Pablo Laso to play in the first team of the Real Madrid in the ABC League. He played the last 3 minutes of the game against CB Miraflores and with 16 years old, he became the third youngest player to play in the first league of basketball after Luka Doncic and Roberto Núñez. In those 3 minutes he scored 2 points, he took two rebounds and caused a personal foul.[3] Personal lifeGaruba is the son of Nigerian parents, Mustapha and Betty, and he has two younger brothers, Sediq Garuba (b. 2004) and Uki Garuba (b. 2010). His parents run away in 1990s from Benin City, Nigeria to Belgium and later they settled in Madrid.
