He has a rune stone in Aars near Aars church which is called the Aars stone which reads: (Front) Asser placed this stone in memory of Valtóki, his lord. (Rear) The stone proclaims that it will stand here forever, and it will mark Valtóki's cairn.. He was a son of Gorm the Old, but it has been said that he was an illegitimate child. He also had positions in the Kingdom of Denmark, as well as a son, named Asbjørn Tokesen. Toke died during Battle of Fýrisvellir, along with his son Asbjørn, who also fought in the battle.[1][2] Odinkar is also mentioned as a son of a "Toki, duke of Vendsyssel".[3] References1. ^{{cite web|last1=Boye|first1=Anette|date=15 June 2017|title=Toke "Val-toke" Gormsen (Jelling)|url=https://www.geni.com/people/Val-Toke-Gormsen/6000000003098183195|website=Geni|access-date=8 August 2017}} {{authority control}}{{Denmark-bio-stub}}2. ^{{cite web|title=Asbjørn Tokesen|url=http://www.swedenmark.eu/getperson.php?personID=I193408&tree=swedenmark|website=Wedell-Wedellsborg - Juel|publisher=Swedenmark.eu|access-date=8 August 2017}} 3. ^{{cite book |author=Adam of Bremen|translator-last1= Tschan |translator-first1= Francis J.|translator-last2= Reuter |translator-first2= Timothy |date=22 January 2005 |title=History of the Archbishops of Hamburg-Bremen |url=https://books.google.co.nz/books?id=4cDtkTUF95IC&printsec=frontcover#v=onepage&q&f=false|location=New York |publisher= Columbia University Press |page=89 |isbn= 9780231500852 |author-link= }} 8 : Vendsyssel|People from the North Denmark Region|10th-century Danish people|Viking rulers|914 births|985 deaths|House of Knýtlinga|10th-century rulers in Europe |
