According to the research done by Advanced Communications & Media (AC&M), in the first half of 2017, “Verticali” was the second largest independent telecom infrastructure company in Russia, owning 2500 towers.[1][2] Industry“Verticali” was founded in 2013, when mobile operators began to actively develop the LTE standard in Moscow region. Large, complex and expensive towers of up to 100 meters high were presented at that time in the market. “Verticali” offered simpler double-purpose masts (which, in addition to base stations, were equipped with lighting and other equipment), which responded to the challenge of rapid increase in the number of stations and network density.[2][3][1] The company began to provide services to all operators of the “Big Four” and by 2015 was leasing about 1,000 towers to them.[4][5] In 2015 and 2016, “Verticali” took part in the tender for VimpelCom cell towers acquisition and discussed purchasing cell towers assets of Tele2 Russia.[6][7] As of July 1, 2017, the company owned more than 2,500 cells sites in Moscow and Moscow region, making it the second largest independent infrastructure company in Russia.[1][8][9] The company plans to increase the number of double-purpose poles to 6,000 by 2021, launching one thousand poles during 2018. The planned 10-billion investment program includes modernization of street light poles into double-purpose poles in the city of St. Petersburg, Leningrad, Tula, Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod and Samara regions, in Tatarstan and Bashkortostan.[13] Owners and managementThe business weekly Company called “Verticali” the most closed participant in the market of telecommunication towers. According to the database Contour.Focus, the founders of the company were “Innova entertainment” with a share of 99% and general director Vladimir Manohin with 1%. In 2015, the main owner of the “Innova entertainment” Georgy Chumburidze informed the journalists that he completely controls “Verticali” and makes operational decisions.[4][5] In June 2017, the investment fund Baring Vostok Capital Partners became Verticali’s strategic partner and provided financing for developing 4G and 5G infrastructure and acquiring assets of other market participants. The amount of the transaction and the acquired share were not disclosed; in 2017 a representative of “Verticali” called the investment fund a major shareholder.[10][11] After receiving the investment “Verticali” recruited a new technical director, who previously worked at Rostelecom, MegaFon and the system integrator LANIT. He is responsible for fulfilling the plans for the construction of cell towers during the next 3-4 years.[12] FinanceThe company does not disclose its financial information. According to SPARK-Interfax, the revenue of “Verticali” in 2014 was 88.2 million rubles, with a net loss of 88.3 million. Sources of the RBC newspaper estimated the company's revenue in 2015 at 300 million rubles. According to SPARK-Interfax, in 2016 the company received 32.8 million rubles of net profit with 844.8 million rubles of revenue.[4][5][2][1] In March 2017, a non-revolving credit line for 1.8 billion rubles was provided by Rosbank. Earlier, the main creditor of “Vertical” was Sberbank, which provided a credit line for 2 billion rubles.[4][1][13] References1. ^1 2 3 4 {{cite web |url=https://incrussia.ru/fly/osnovatel-vertikali-i-russkoj-kidzania-georgij-chumburidze-o-tom-kak-startap-prevratit-v-kompaniyu-s-milliardnym-oborotom/ |title=Основатель «Вертикали» и игровой компании Innova Георгий Чумбуридзе — о том, как стартап превратить в компанию с миллиардным оборотом |trans-title = The founder of “Verticali” and the game company “Innova” Georgy Chumburidze: how to turn a start-up into a company with a billion-dollar turnover |date=2017-08-15 |publisher=Inc. |accessdate=2018-04-02}} 2. ^1 {{cite web |url=http://www.rbc.ru/magazine/2016/04/56ead0539a79474e4031fc90 |title=Башни на продажу: как иностранцы создали бизнес, растущий в кризис |trans-title = Towers for sale: how foreigners created a business growing in crisis |author= Irina Yuzbekova |date=2016-04-19 |publisher= RBC |accessdate=2018-03-11}} 3. ^{{cite web |url=https://www.dp.ru/a/2017/05/31/Na_okrainah_Peterburga_pl |title=На окраинах Петербурга планируют построить сотни фонарей — вышек сотовых операторов |trans-title = Hundreds of street lights - cell towers are to be built on the outskirts of Petersburg |author= Nadezhda Fedorova, Zhanna Zhuravleva |date=2017-06-01 |publisher= Delovoy Peterburg |accessdate=2018-03-11}} 4. ^1 2 3 {{cite web |url=https://www.vedomosti.ru/technology/articles/2015/10/01/610991-davnii-drug-ivana-tavrina-okazalsya-vladeltsem-infrastrukturnoi-kompanii |title=Давний друг Ивана Таврина оказался владельцем инфраструктурной компании |trans-title = An old friend of Ivan Tavrin turned out to be the owner of an infrastructure company |author= Elizabeth Sergina |date=2015-10-01 |publisher= Vedomosti |accessdate=2018-03-11}} 5. ^1 2 {{cite web |url=http://ko.ru/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&layout=item&id=131949 |title=Безбашенные операторы |trans-title = Hardcore operators |author= Anna Oreshkina |date=2016-02-28 |publisher= Company weekly |accessdate=2018-03-11}} 6. ^{{cite web |url=https://www.vedomosti.ru/technology/articles/2016/03/17/633899-bashni-vimpelkoma |title=Претенденты на башни «Вымпелкома» хотят снизить их цену |trans-title = Claimants to VimpelCom towers want to reduce their price |author= Elizaveta Sergina, Oleg Salmanov |date=2016-03-16 |publisher= Vedomosti |accessdate=2018-04-02}} 7. ^{{cite web |url=https://www.vedomosti.ru/technology/articles/2016/10/14/660888-bashni-tele2 |title=На башни Tele2 появился новый претендент |trans-title = New claimant to Tele2 towers |author= Elizaveta Sergina |date=2016-10-14 |publisher= Vedomosti|accessdate=2018-03-11}} 8. ^1 {{cite web |url=http://www.iksmedia.ru/news/5434510-Rossijskij-bashennyj-rynok-ozhidaet.html |title=Российский башенный рынок ждет консолидация |trans-title = The Russian tower market is waiting for consolidation |date=2017-09-01 |publisher= IKS Media |accessdate=2018-03-11}} 9. ^{{cite web |url=https://www.kommersant.ru/doc/3420865 |author = Julia Tishina, Alexey Kirichenko |title= Башням нашли опору |trans-title = Towers got support |date=2017-09-25 |publisher= Kommersant |accessdate=2018-03-11}} 10. ^{{cite web |url=https://www.kommersant.ru/doc/3318375 |title=Baring Vostok встроилась в "Вертикаль" |trans-title = “Baring Vostok” has aligned with “Verticali” |author= Julia Tishina |date=2017-06-06 |publisher= Kommersant |accessdate=2018-03-11}} 11. ^1 {{cite web |url= https://www.rbc.ru/technology_and_media/13/10/2017/59df6fde9a7947da0a08018b |title=Партнер экс-главы «МегаФона» переделает фонари в вышки сотовой связи |trans-title = The partner of the ex-head of MegaFon will repurpose lamp posts into cell towers |author= Anna Balashova, Lyubov Altukhova |date=2017-10-13 |publisher= RBC |accessdate=2018-03-11}} 12. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.comnews.ru/content/108864/2017-07-25/novyy-direktor-pomozhet-vystroit-vertikal |title=Новый директор поможет выстроить "Вертикаль" |trans-title = The new director will help build “Verticali” |author= Elizabeth Titarenko |date=2017-07-25 |publisher=Comnews |accessdate=2018-03-11}} 13. ^{{cite web |url=https://www.rosbank.ru/ru/about/press/the_new/novosti/Rosbank-predostavil-finansirovanie-kompanii-Vertikal/ |title=Росбанк предоставил финансирование компании «Вертикаль» на сумму 1,8 миллиарда рублей |trans-title = Rosbank provided 1.8 billion rubles financing to “Verticali” company |date=2017-03-21 |publisher= Rosbank |accessdate=2018-03-11}} Links
