The TV series is based on the casual dining burger restaurant and bar Wahlburgers, a chain of restaurants that started in Hingham, Massachusetts a town just outside the Boston area and now has 26 restaurants in its chain.[2] Wahlburgers is owned by chef Paul Wahlberg in partnership with two of his brothers, actors and singers Donnie and Mark Wahlberg.
