It is on the shores of Lake Eucumbene near Adaminaby. At the {{CensusAU|2016}}, it has a resident population of about 94,[1] but is popular as a holiday destination for trout fishing and as a base for visitors to the skifields at Selwyn Snowfields. ClimateAnglers Reach yields a subalpine climate akin to that of Thredbo Village and Kiandra, or even Gurnang State Forest located farther north in the Central West. Mild, stormy summers, alongside cold and snowy winters averaging –3° to 6° C and evenly spread precipitation throughout the year characterise this particular climate; precipitation chiefly accentuated later in the year. Frosts occur regularly during Autumn, Winter and Spring, and can occur also in Summer.
