History

At first the Royal Project Foundation was researched and developed the type of each plant to find out the species that suitable for compensate Opium and for satisfy demand of the market. The important thing that they need to do is to propagate any species to enough for agriculturist. From the experiment at the beginning founded that, there are many fruits that grow very well in the area of the north of Thailand. In 1979 the foundation of Royal project was selected the area of department of Agriculture at Pangda village, Samoeng, Chiangmai to be the experiment area for cereal and winter plant. However when the demand of the plants was increased, this station can’t produce enough plant for farmer so the foundation was decided to move to the new place that have the area around 25 rai and close to Plagung water reservoir. In 1985 the foundation was increased the area next to the primary area around 65 rai and was operated underneath of Pangda Royal Project station (Royal Project Foundation, 2555).

Location

The PangDa Royal Project station located at Pangda village 192, m.10, south Samoeng, Samoeng district, Chiangmai, Thailand (blonggang, 2014).

Topography

Majority of the area of the station is the steep area located in valley that surrounded with plentifully forest, the main water resource is the Plagung water reservoir that has 720m above sea levels (Royal Project Foundation, 2555).

Climate

Due to the station was located in the valley and has 720m above sea levels, therefore the average temperature is around 23.0 degree Celsius. The highest temperature is 35.00 degree Celsius and the lowest is 9.5 degree Celsius. The rainfall is around 1,863.20 mm

Operation

There are nine type of vegetable that was supported by the Foundation

such as two color corn, bitter melon, eggplant, garlic chives, yellow sweet pepper, turkey berry (Royal Project Foundation, 2555).

For the fruit this station was researched about avocado, grape, Cape Gooseberry, Passion fruit, strawberry, and fig (Royal Project Foundation, 2555)

Transportation

there are two ways to go to Pangda Royal Project

1. Use Chiangmai – Fang pass Maerim district and turn left to Maesa water fall to Maerim and go straight away for 38 kilometers to Pangda station (Royal Project Foundation, 2555).

2. Use Hangdong - Samoeng road around 36 kilometers (Royal Project Foundation, 2555)
