Moose FactoryWeeneebayko Health Ahtuskaywin was the successor to Moose Factory General Hospital (c. 1966) and Moose Factory Indian and Inuit Hospital (c. 1950). Weeneebayko Health Ahtuskaywin was a federal funded hospital under Health Canada, where as most hospitals in Ontario are provincially funded. The old hospital at 5 First Street is now James Bay Outdoors. Fort AlbanyOpened in 1987 as a satellite site of James Bay General, Fort Albany Hospital has 17 beds providing 27/7 care staffed by registered nurses and consulting doctors in emergency room.[1] AttawapiskatOpened in 1985 as a satellite site of James Bay, Attawapiskat Hospital has 15 beds and provides similar care as in Fort Albany.[1] Partnership SitesWAHA has a partnership with Health Canada First Nation and Inuit Health Branch to provide basic care in two remote communities:[1]
Both sites are staffed by nurses and provide basic care for their respective communities.
