For three seasons, Seaman coached for his alma mater, Washington & Jefferson. His next team, Western Reserve, earned two titles in the Ohio Athletic Conference during his four-year tenure.[3] As a baseball manager of the Washington Senators in the Pennsylvania–Ohio–Maryland League for its only two seasons, he posted records of 57–44 in 1906—enough for league runner-up—and 45–75 in 1907.[4] Seaman was to remain the Western Reserve football coach for the 1910 season. However, he caught pneumonia in April 1910 and died in his hometown of Washington, Pennsylvania.[5] Head coaching recordFootball{{CFB Yearly Record Start | type = coach | team = | conf = | bowl = | poll = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subhead| name = Washington & Jefferson | conf = | startyear = 1902 | endyear = 1904 }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1902 | name = Washington & Jefferson | overall = 6–4 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1903 | name = Washington & Jefferson | overall = 8–2 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1904 | name = Washington & Jefferson | overall = 5–3–1 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subtotal | name = Washington & Jefferson | overall = 19–9–1 | confrecord = }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subhead | name = Western Reserve | conf = Ohio Athletic Conference | startyear = 1906 | endyear = 1909 }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1906 | name = Western Reserve | overall = 4–2–3 | conference = 1–2 | confstanding = 3rd | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = conference | year = 1907 | name = Western Reserve | overall = 8–1 | conference = 5–1 | confstanding = 1st | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = conference | year = 1908 | name = Western Reserve | overall = 9–1 | conference = 6–1 | confstanding = 1st | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1909 | name = Western Reserve | overall = 5–3–1 | conference = 1–1–1 | confstanding = 4th | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subtotal | name = Western Reserve | overall = 26–7–4 | confrecord = 13–5–1 }}{{CFB Yearly Record End | overall = 45–16–5 | bowls = no | poll = no | polltype = | legend = no }} References1. ^{{Cite web|url=https://archive.org/stream/palmofalphatauom3019alph#page/240/mode/1up|title=The Palm of Alpha Tau Omega|website=archive.org|access-date=May 15, 2016}} {{Washington & Jefferson Presidents football coach navbox}}{{Case Western Spartans football coach navbox}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Seaman, William}}{{1900s-collegefootball-coach-stub}}2. ^Stinson, Mitchell Conrad (2012).
