The film is Farrell's directorial debut.[1] PlotIn their last year of high school, six best friends prepare to leave their small, struggling hometown, a place caught in the slow, fine-grinding wheels of American big business that seem to leave no side doors. Maisie, whose father is about to be released from prison, decides she can't leave the town where she has been embraced so lovingly since the dark day when her father nearly killed the man whose company foreclosed on their family farm. The town's patriarch, Gil Denton, a no nonsense, wealthy landowner dying from cancer, loves these six kids, and in his remaining time with them he serves as a sounding board, dependable guide, and sympathetic friend - while providing them a wistful link to a past they will never know. Set in current time, the story shows that small town values are worth saving and that the mouse does indeed occasionally roar. Cast
ProductionFarrell had written the part of Gil Denton specifically for Corbin to portray.[2][3] Early in development, Jake T. Austin was attached to the project.[4] The film was shot in Gainesville, Texas.[5] AwardsThe film won Best Narrative Feature at the Garden State Film Festival in New Jersey.[6][7] References1. ^{{cite web|last=Prince|first=Jeff|title=Nick Krause On Hollywood, Austin, George Clooney, Madelyn Deutch|date=17 September 2014|publisher=Fort Worth Weekly|url=https://www.fwweekly.com/2014/09/17/nick-krause-on-hollywood-austin-george-clooney-and-madelyn-deutch/|accessdate=10 November 2016}} 2. ^{{cite web|last=Prince|first=Jeff|title=A Script For Texas|date=17 September 2014|publisher=Fort Worth Weekly|url=https://www.fwweekly.com/2014/09/17/a-script-for-texas/|accessdate=10 November 2016}} 3. ^{{cite web|last=Prince|first=Jeff|title=Windsor Among Movies Slated For Lone Star Film Festival|date=9 October 2015|publisher=Fort Worth Weekly|url=https://www.fwweekly.com/2015/10/09/windsor-among-movies-slated-for-lone-star-film-festival/|accessdate=10 November 2016}} 4. ^{{cite web|last=Chase|first=Kit|title=Movie team set to film in Gainesville|date=12 July 2014|publisher=Gainesville Daily Register|url=http://www.gainesvilleregister.com/movie-team-set-to-film-in-gainesville/article_5084ddd0-6b2a-599c-99ed-5e8d3d078ede.html|accessdate=10 November 2016}} 5. ^{{cite web|last=Prince|first=Jeff|title=Quinn Shephard On Windsor, Texas, Twang, Jersey Shore|date=18 September 2014|publisher=Fort Worth Weekly|url=https://www.fwweekly.com/2014/09/18/quinn-shephard-on-windsor-texas-twang-jersey-shore/|accessdate=10 November 2016}} 6. ^{{cite web|title=Windsor a Winner?|date=30 September 2015|publisher=Fort Worth Weekly|url=https://www.fwweekly.com/2015/09/30/windsor-a-winner/|accessdate=10 November 2016}} 7. ^{{cite web|last=Darling|first=Cary|title=Fort Worth director uses small-town roots for first movie|date=21 April 2015|publisher=Fort Worth Star-Telegram|url=http://www.star-telegram.com/entertainment/arts-culture/article19144803.html|accessdate=10 November 2016}} External links
