WiredTiger is a NoSQL, Open Source extensible platform for data management. WiredTiger uses MultiVersion Concurrency Control (MVCC)[1] architecture. MongoDB acquired WiredTiger Inc. on December 16, 2014.[2] The WiredTiger storage engine is the default storage engine starting in MongoDB version 3.2. It provides a document-level concurrency model, checkpointing, and compression, among other features. In MongoDB Enterprise, WiredTiger also supports Encryption At Rest.[3]References1. ^{{Cite web|url=https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/core/wiredtiger/#snapshots-and-checkpoints|title=WiredTiger: Snapshots and CheckPoints|last=|first=|date=|website=|publisher=|access-date=}} 2. ^{{Cite web|url=https://www.mongodb.com/press/wired-tiger|title=MongoDB Acquires WiredTiger Inc|last=|first=|date=|website=|publisher=|access-date=}} 3. ^{{Cite web|url=https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/core/security-encryption-at-rest/|title=MongoDB: Encryption At Rest|last=|first=|date=|website=|publisher=|access-date=}}
