World Scholar's Cup Rounds 2019

As every year the World Scholar's Cup season is again divided into 3 stadiums where scholars all around the world can come together and join the programme.

  1. Regional Rounds: Held all around the world to introduce new scholars to the programme and let them participate in their own battle for the Global Rounds in two days. See the World Scholar's Cup website for the host-school in your region.
  2. Global Rounds: Held in several places around the world. The Global Rounds and the Mini Global Rounds are the next round when doing right at one of the Regional Rounds. {{when|date=December 2018}} the Global Rounds are held in six different places, more than ever in World Scholar's Cup history. At the Global Rounds scholars meet a new programme with social events and the same scholar events. A Global Round mostly overtakes five days, however, the Mini-Globals only meet at three days. At the Global Rounds scholars battle for a place at ToC.
  3. Tournament of Champions (ToC): The Champions of the Global Rounds are now coming together in the final stage of the season. A programme which is comparable with those of the Globals has now perched in the halls of Yale University over five days.

There are more Global Rounds than ever in World Scholar's Cup. In comparison; the previous season contained 4 Global Rounds and this year the diversity is bigger. More than 6 Global Rounds are held.

Scholar's Events

  • Team Debate Teams argue motions to the different subjects and then share constructive feedback with one another. Team against team.
  • Scholar's Challenge Scholars take a rigorous exam in which they apply their learning across the six World Scholar's Cup subjects while filling in bubbles properly.
  • Collaborative Writing Teams select and brainstorm three of six different topics before crafting individual creative and persuasive compositions. If finished early, scholars are encouraged to draw sketches of alpacas (because alpacas are super cool).
  • Scholar's Bowl Grab a clicker and go out of control: After a significant preamble, teams work with their new fourth teammate to answer a series of unconventional questions.

Community Events

  • Scholar's Scavenge Each scholar is teamed up with new friends from all around the world to explore a site and collect points that may never be counted.
  • Scholar's Show Whether juggling sushi or proving a math theorem, each scholar has the chance to share his or her unique talents and untalents with the World Scholar's Cup community.
  • Scholar's Fair A chance for scholars from other countries to experience all their different customs, cultures and Indian sweets.
  • Scholar's Social Scholars will mingle to music and bus queues at the end of the Scavenger Hunt at a special location.
  • Debate Showcase Top speakers are nominated for the Debate Showcase, in which they form new teams to debate curricular motion of global significance. The entire community, including adults, then joins in the conversation until tie runs out.
  • Scholar's Ball Scholars dress up to celebrate the diversity in (non)awkward situations at the dance floor.
  • Yale Ball Similar to Scholar's ball but then celebrating in the halls of Yale University...
