Xia Henderson (born 16 October 1998) is an English professional wrestler and valet currently signed to WWE where she performs on the NXT UK brand under the ring name Xia Brookside.[1] The daughter of British wrestling legend Robbie Brookside,[8][9] she is best known for her appearances in World Wonder Ring Stardom and All Star Wrestling.

Professional wrestling career

Independent Circult (2014-2017)

Brookside was trained under her father, Robbie Brookside, Robbie Dynamite and Dean Allmark.[2] In 2015, Brookside made her in-ring professional wrestling debut for All Star Wrestling where Brookside and El Ligero defeated Kay Lee Ray and Sammy D.[3] In February 2016, Xia made her Insane Championship Wrestling in a ICW Women's Championship three-way match against Kay Lee Ray and Carmel Jacob in a losing effort.[4][5] In May 2016, Brookside took part in the Empress Pro Invitational held by Empress Pro Wrestling where she defeated Toni Storm in the semi-finals and Kay Lee Ray in the tournament finals.[6] On 26 June 2016, Brookside defeated Toni Storm to become Pro Wrestling Ulster Women's champion.[7] In 2017 at a Kamikaze Pro event, Brookside was defeated by Rosemary.[8]

In 2016, Brookside made her Revolution Pro Wrestling debut losing to Jinny Couture.[9]

In 2017, Brookside began working for the Japanese World Wonder Ring Stardom promotion. She made her debut teaming with Mari Apache and Gabby Ortiz where they defeated Hiromi Mimura, Konami and Starlight Kid.[10] In her second Stardom match, Brookside and Ortiz defeated Natsuko Tora and Kaori Yoneyama of Team Jungle.[11] During the 2017 5STAR Grand Prix she gained two points by defeating Kris Wolf in the first set of block B matches.[12] After this she would not pick up anymore points during the tournament.

WWE (2018–present)

On 30 July 2018, it was announced that Brookside would be taking part in the second WWE Mae Young Classic in August.[13][14] She lost to Io Shirai in the first round.[15]

Despite her loss, she became a part of the NXT UK roster, where she participated in a tournament to become the inaugural NXT UK Women's Champion where she was eliminated in the first round.

Personal life

Xia is the daughter of British wrestler and current NXT trainer, Robbie Brookside.[4]
