XYLO (stylised as XYLØ) is an American alternative pop singer-songwriter consisting of lead vocalist and songwriter Paige Duddy and songwriter and musician Chase Duddy. They were best known for their debut single, "America", which was self-released through NoiseTrade in February 2015. A year later, this single became the lead single of their debut EP America. As of 2017, Paige Duddy has gone solo under XYLO.

Career

Paige Duddy is the granddaughter of jazz drummer Joe Porcaro, and niece of three members of Toto.[1]

2015–2016: America EP

Duddy's career started in February 2015, when their debut single, "America" received attention on YouTube. The self-released song was promoted through Hype Machine and NoiseTrade on 23 February 2015. The song eventually made it onto the top 10 of the Hype Machine chart and was debuted on American radio through KCRW.

On June 4, they released their second song, "Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea".

Through Apple Music, the duo released their third song, "Afterlife", on July 22, 2015.

In September 2015, they were featured as special guests on Oh Wonder's live show in Los Angeles.

They released their fourth song, entitled "L.A. Love Song", on October 7, 2015. A month later, they announced that they were going to be taking a break and working on producing more music. They signed to Sony Music Entertainment.

Going into 2016, the duo had embarked on a number of their own live shows as well as working on new music to what would become their debut EP. On 19 February 2016, they announced their fifth single "Bang Bang", released through Apple Music. This came with the announcement of the extended play, under the title America, and that all of their singles released so far were to be on the extended play.

Two days before the extended play's release, they announced their sixth and final single to be released through the EP, entitled "BLK CLD", released 26 February 2016. The EP was released on February 27, 2016, through Sony Music Entertainment. During the release, the duo launched their official VEVO channel on YouTube with the music video for their debut single "America", which sparked the single's official release, to celebrate a year since its original release.

The post-release of the extended play sparked the start of their American tour, which took place across the United States. They also said that they were going to be working on new music which is what will eventually become the duo's debut album.

On June 10, 2016, they released the America (The Remixes) EP, which includes remixes from Young Bombs and Win & Woo.[2]

2016–present: Studio album

After the success of the debut extended play, the duo released their single "Fool's Paradise" on August 5, 2016.[3]

The duo was featured on "Setting Fires" by the Chainsmokers, released as part of the Collage EP on November 4, 2016.

On July 8, 2017, duo announced their first North American tour with 26 dates across the US and Canada to support their upcoming debut album. However, the tour was cancelled on August 29, 2017, "due to unforeseen circumstances".
