He is a member of the Union of Artists of Germany.[1] BiographyYushaev was born in a large family in Khasavyurt, whose father was a watchmaker and amateur artist. In 1984, he graduated from an art school in Makhachkala, only to serve the Soviet Army for the next two years. From 1987 to 1992, along with his older brother Sultan (now also an artist, living in Belgium), he studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg. In 1997, he graduated from the Institute of Arts in the Leipzig University. Currently he lives and works in Germany,[1] having his own studio-gallery in Leipzig since 1999.[1] Eventually, he became a member of the Union of Artists of Germany.[2][3] Style and worksYushaev works in the genre of surrealism and, most recently, performance art. Some of his paintings are held in private and state collections in countries such as Austria, Brazil, Germany, Denmark, France, Japan, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Czech Republic, the United States, and many others.[3] He also draws caricatures upon request.[4] His work is very successful. Among his customers are Angelina Jolie, the late Montserrat Caballé and Russian politicians and businessmen.
