Born in Raozan Upazila, Chittagong.{{citation needed|date=February 2018}} CareerBablu is a former Secretary General of Jatiya Party. He was elected to parliament from Chittagong 9 in 2014.[2][3] He served as a minister in the cabinet of Hussain Muhammad Ershad in the 1980s. He was appointed advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 2014.[4] Personal lifeBablu's first wife Farida Sarkar died in 2005 from Cancer. They had a son, Ashik Ahmed, who is now a businessman.
