Zilingo is a beauty and lifestyle marketplace with headquarters in Singapore. It allows smaller merchants from Southeast Asia without an online presence to list their items for sale direct to consumers.

Their businesses includes B2C & B2B Marketplace, Private Label as a Service, E-POS & Inventory Management Service, Trend Forecasting and Fintech Services. Each business complements the other, creating compounding services & benefits for the platform as a whole.

History

Zilingo, a play on the word "zillion," was established in 2015 by Ankiti Bose and Dhruv Kapoor.^[1] The idea came from when Bose was on holiday in Bangkok and noticed that many of the small and medium sized shops had no online presence.^[2]^[3]

The company began with seed funding from Sequoia India^[4] and raised an additional $8 million in a Series A funding round in September 2016.^[5] It raised an additional $18 million in 2017 in a Series B round^[4] and $54 million in a Series C round in 2018.^[6]

By September 2017, Zilingo was shipping to eight countries and has seller hubs in Hong Kong, Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia and Thailand, adding 5,000 new merchants in the previous twelve months.^[4]

In February 2019 Zilingo raised $226m in new round of funding from Sequoia India, Singapore sovereign fund Temasek, Germany’s Burda and Sofina. Singapore's Economic Development Board investment arm, EDBI, also joined in the round. ^[7]

Technology

Zilingo is a mobile-first eCommerce platform. It aggregates small fashion retailers from Singapore, Bangkok and Jakarta.^[2] It allows merchants to sign up directly and list their products direct to consumers.^[8]
