It is not closely related to the wild form of celery, A. graveolens, being more properly placed in the genus Helosciadium in the tribe Oenantheae.[2] A. bermejoi is now endemic to a single location in the northeast part of Menorca in the Balearic Islands of Spain.[1] Across two populations, there are fewer than a hundred individuals surviving. Its natural habitat is Mediterranean-type shrubby vegetation. It is threatened by habitat loss.[1] References1. ^1 2 {{Cite journal | author = Mus, M. | author2 = Rita Larrucea, J. | last-author-amp = yes | title = Apium bermejoi | journal = The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species | volume = 2006 | page = e.T61608A12520807 | publisher = IUCN | date = 2006 | url = http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/61608/0 | doi = 10.2305/IUCN.UK.2006.RLTS.T61608A12520807.en | access-date = 20 December 2017}} {{Taxonbar|from=Q4779937}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Apium bermejoi}}{{Apiaceae-stub}}2. ^{{cite journal|author1=Spalik, K. |author2=Downie, S.R. |author3=Watson, M.F. | title=Generic delimitations within the Sium alliance (Apiaceae tribe Oenantheae) inferred from cpDNA rps16-5′trnK (UUU) and nrDNA ITS sequences| journal=Taxon| volume=58| number=33| date=August 2009| pages=735–748| url=http://www.life.illinois.edu/downie/Spalik_Sium_cpDNA.pdf| format=PDF}} 4 : Apium|Flora of Spain|Critically endangered plants|Taxonomy articles created by Polbot |
